Selling With uBuyArt

Who are we?
uBuyArt is a division of The Local Art Scene, a trading name of Hart Media Group. The Local Art Scene was set up in 2016, to support local artists, galleries and events with their regional online marketing and exposure. Today the site gets on average over 50,000 views from visitors across the UK and worldwide.

uBuyArt was created in 2021 to provide a dedicated selling platform for artists wanting a more personal hands on service that many of its competitors are unable to provide.

What does the annual subscription include?
Your subscription includes posting up to 30 individual products on the site. You have access to your own online shop which enables you to add and moderate your own online catalogue. We will help you to get started. We will create your user profile and add upto 10 products to your gallery.

Ongoing Support.
If you need help, we will set up a Zoom meeting and show how to access the site and upload your individual items.

Sales Commission
We deduct a gallery commission of just 20% everytime an artwork is purchased through our website using the payment gateway. This commission includes processing fees deducted by PayPal on each transaction.

Commission is charged on the retail price and does not include the cost of shipping the artwork to the customer.

VAT on Commission
Currently we do not charge VAT on sales commission. This may change at some time in the future and we will keep you informed if this situation changes.

Delivery of Artwork
It is the responsibility of the artist to arrange with the customer the method of delivery and the additional costs. The retail price set by you on your products excludes the cost of shipping the item. Customers may wish to collect direct from you they may wish to arrange for their own courier to collect the work. uBuyArt will accept no liability for damage to artworks in transit from you to your Customer. It is solely your responsibility to ensure that you package your artworks sufficiently and ship them via a service that will minimise the likelihood of damage.

Returns
If a customer is unhappy with the goods received, it is the responsibility of the artist to arrange collection of the artwork. 

Payments
Payment less our commission is made two weeks after the customer has confirmed receipt of the goods.
